4 lb density Part A and Part B two-part liquid Polyurethane foam. Recommended uses include boat building and repair, thermal insulation of storage tanks, pipes, and panels, or applications where there is a need for a rigid closed cell, high temperature resistant polyurethane foam. A two-part, equal mix, self-rising, 4lb/ cu. ft. density closed-cell foam system. Foaming begins within 45 seconds after the two liquids are mixed and continues for several more minutes. The foam expands approximately 30 times its liquid volume before curing, and will fill any shape cavity. It does not react with oil or gasoline and it will not absorb water. Ideal for floatation applications and provides 60 pounds of floatation per cubic foot of foam. Unlike polyester foams, polyurethane foam is compatible with both polyester and epoxy resins. This 4LB density foam is suited well for most flotation applications that require more support than the 2LB offers. This foam is recommended to be used when supporting gas tanks and some deck areas. Choose this density if you feel that the foam will be required to withstand minor to moderate loads. The 4LB density also works well in floating decoy or taxidermy applications as well as many other sculpting, casting, carving and other filling applications. PRODUCT INFORMATION: Free Rise Density: 4.0 lbs cubic ft. Expansion Rate: Approx. 15x Liquid Volume Buoyancy (flotation): 58 LBs per Cubic Ft. "Closed cell". Not greatly affected by gas or oil. Mix ratio is 1:1. Item 1814
